About Journey For Sight: Journey For Sight (JFS) is an annual event that attracts snowmobile enthusiasts from all over Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario who donate their time to raise awareness and funds for Lions Eye Bank programs.
The riders make stops in over 72 communities, graciously accepting pledges and donations along the way. Since 1983, Journey For Sight has raised over $2,000,000.
All funds raised are designated for the sole purpose of easing the burden many children and adults face with vision impairment. The funds are utilized by providing financial support for out of province, city or town surgeries, adaptive technology equipment, necessary equipment for health facilities, eye exams and eye wear and the collecting of used eyeglasses for developing countries. In 2018, Lions Eye Bank added free vision screening for children aged six months to six years through Lions Kidsight.
In a long-standing partnership with Lions Foundation of Manitoba & Northwestern Ontario, Journey For Sight plays a crucial role in improving the quality of life for those in our community with vision impairment.
