1 Yr. – Sept. 7, 2018

  All smiling faces at Reston School as Fort La Bosse School Division resumed classes on September 5… Autumn Kirkpatrick participated in Westoba Agriculture Centre of Excellence, held in conjunction with the Northern Lights Barrel Race on August 31… Reston and District Library had 91 children signed up for the Summer Reading Program over the summer of 2018.

10 Yrs. – Sept. 5, 2009

  Athletes Brittney Bartel, Rhyley Jago Andrew Lochhead were both fortunate to make it into teams to represent their home provinces in 2009 Canada Games held out in beautiful Summerside PEI, August 15-20, 2009. Brittney played for Team Manitoba Softball, Rhyley Jago for Team Saskatchewan Rugby and Andrew Lochhead for Team Manitoba Baseball.

20 Yrs. – Sept. 7, 1999

  The Oil Dome Riggers won the Manitoba Bantam Championship at Wawanesa. Team members include: Ross Tycoles (coach), Tyler Fletcher (Lyleton), Kyle Meakin (Morden), Chris Plett (Wawanesa), Shawn Jeffrey (Winnipeg), Nick Cowen (Hartney), Glenn McGreggor (coach), Carson Dyck (Boissevain), Mark Plett (Wawanesa), Cody Jago (Reston), Mitchell Kirkup (Souris), JayDyn Murray (Melita), Brad Adams (Reston) Justin Morrison (Hartney), Rory Tycoles (Reston), Derek McGregor (Wawanesa) and Ryan Plett (bat boy, Wawanesa).

30 Yrs. – Sept. 6, 1989

 At Reston Elementary School there are 148 students enrolled and at Reston Collegiate there is a total of 154.

40 Yrs. – Sept. 6, 1979

  Some farmers are over half finished while others are just nicely started… It was back to school for 128 students at Reston Collegiate.

50 Yrs. – Sept. 4, 1969

  Achievement Days, August 28th for the Tilston 4H Garden Club was an outstanding success. Champion gardener was Marlene Pickett… Hillview Community donated their electric organ and Communion Table to the Alstone Lodge.

60 Yrs. – Sept. 10, 1959

  The South-West Feeder Cattle Sales were opened on Thursday by Premier Duff Roblin… The Sinclair Baseball Club wound up the season with a buffet style turkey dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Williamson.

70 Yrs. – Sept. 8, 1949

  The two schools in the Broomhill district have reopened. Miss Matheson of Tilston, is in charge of Hathway School (in Broomhill Village) and Miss McKenzie of Souris in charge of Broomhill (situated southwest of Broomhill)… Children from the Hillview district are attending Reston School this year as the school is closed.

80 Yrs. – Sept. 7, 1939

  The appeal to Justice and humanity has failed and was is again on… Mr. and Mrs. A. Yeske have taken over the Red & White store and John Deere agency at Pipestone.

90 Yrs. – Sept. 5, 1929

Initial steps have been taken to bring Hydro to Pipestone.

100 Yrs. – Sept. 4, 1919

  Two broken arms have resulted in this district during the past week through cars backfiring… Messrs. J.W. Guthrie and T.A. Bulloch have entered into partnership and will conduct a real estate, collection, insurance, etc. business. They will occupy their present office on Reston’s Main Street.
