Hidden Treasures invites Reston & Area Early Learning Centre as a not-for-profit partner

Hidden Treasures in Reston, run by St. John’s Anglican church volunteers, has been happily overwhelmed by the donations and community support over the first three years of operation. The concept for the store grew out of 28 years of Spring and Fall Thrift Sales at the Parish Hall and the opportunity of a main street store front in 2016.

Entering into the fourth year of operation, the committee felt that in addition to the church based and well known charities it supports, it was the time to look for a local not-for-profit partner as part of our community outreach.

Beginning the first Thursday of March, Reston & Area Early Learning Centre (the daycare) will run Hidden Treasures each Thursday evening from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.  Any sales made during those hours are theirs to keep, with no rental or overhead costs.  We have entered into a one year agreement and it will be reviewed in 2020.

The committee is really excited for the daycare families, who will operate on a two month rotation, although it will feel a little odd sharing “our baby”!

Please make a point of visiting Hidden Treasures from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. beginning Thursday, March 7, and support the daycare families.
