This year, Alan Jackson drove the truck to our destination points. Starting at Irwin Automotive, he received donations from Irwin Auto, Sinclair and Area Lions and individuals. His next stop was Pipestone where donations were received from Turnbull Sales and Service, Pipestone Lions Club and Pipestone Guild. Next it was on to Virden Tim Horton’s where the Virden Lions supplied lunch. Then over to Virden Recreation where donations were being received and coffee and donuts supplied to the public. A donation was received from the Oak Lake and Area Lions Club. The final destination was the Brandon Airport Museum Hall where riders from all legs met; supper was supplied by the Wheat City Lions Clubs and was greatly appreciated. At this point, approximately $34,700 had been raised by the 2019 Journey for Sight with more to come. All money raised goes to the Lions Eye Bank for sight enhancing tools and equipment, cornea transplants, funding assistance for the visually impaired and research, to name a few. The total funds raised for the (2018) Journey for Sight was $77,600. Special thanks to all riders and support drivers, businesses, organizations, Lions Cub, and individuals who supported the 2019 Journey for Sight. Thanks to the Virden Lions Club for lunch and the Wheat City Lions Clubs for supper. Approximately, $2,950 was raised by the Sinclair to Brandon run. Donations are still being received.

I, Brad Henderson, went with a group of riders out of Dauphin, Manitoba. I started at Flin Flon with 15 other riders and rode my sled as far as Overflowing River, Manitoba where my sled broke After staying overnight in Swan River one of the other riders was unable to continue and gave me his sled to ride to Brandon, thanks Yogi. We trailered from Dauphin to St. Rose then rode from there in to Brandon. I rode a sled for about 500 km and had a great time. Thanks to the group of dedicated riders and support drivers who made the journey out of Flin Flon.

You can still donate, please contact Brad Henderson at (204) 877-3187 or mail to Brad Henderson, Box 327, Reston, MB, R0M 1X0
