Connie McQuiston and Brenda Penner began in the spring of 1994. “We decided to go into the greenhouse business together because we both had small greenhouses of our own,” said McQuiston. “When the opportunity came up to buy the business of Mayert’s Highway Greenhouse, we thought why not go together and give it a try.”

In 2004, Connie and Brenda packed up their plants and moved to Reston. April 1st of that year, they purchased Reston Greenhouse and served Reston and area from both their Sinclair and Reston locations. Connie and Brenda expanded their business that year by selling seed potatoes, garden seeds, trees and shrubs.

After a few years in Reston, Brenda decided to retire from the greenhouse business, leaving Connie to carry on.

Fast-forward 25 years and Stoney Creek Greenhouse is still flourishing at 338-3rd Street. Connie with the help of her daughter Samantha Clark opened for the year on May 1st. The greenhouse supplies customers with over 150 different varieties of annuals, a good selection of perennials, assorted vegetables, basket stuffers, hanging baskets and planters. Last year, Samantha started creating fairy gardens for sale and this year, she is planning a workshop, where you can go and make your own fairy garden.

With 25 years of experience, Stoney Creek Greenhouse can help you find that perfect plant for the right location in your yard, or if you prefer, drop off your baskets and planters and have them professionally filled. Connie welcomes your questions and will try her best to make your yard bloom. Call 204-851-2174 for more information.
