There is a catch – you must bring a proof of purchase when you come to purchase the subscription for $25 –  a receipt or business card from one of the participating businesses and they include: The RM of Pipestone, Andrew Agencies (Reston), Wolverine Supplies (Virden), West Souris River Conservation District, Sunrise Credit Union – Reston Branch, Ikay Gardens (Sinclair) Irwin Automotive (Sinclair), Wiebe’s Corner Store (Sinclair), Stoney Creek Greenhouse. Remember a receipt, business card or an order invoice will do, anything to prove that you visited those participating businesses this week.

Spray Park

article continues below

If you haven’t noticed, the water and sewer were hooked up to the Spray Park this week. That is exciting news, especially considering Mother Nature has decided to co-operate and the temperature is more spring like. I for one am looking forward to taking my nieces and grandbaby to be to the spray park this summer.

Tax Deadline

April 30th is the dreaded day that our taxes need to be filled by. I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news but saying that you’re getting a tax refund is essentially admitting that you gave the government an interest free loan all year!

Prayers for Toronto

Ten people are dead and 15 are injured after the driver of a van plowed into multiple pedestrians in Toronto on Monday, April 23 in what appears to be a deliberate act, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said.  Saunders said the suspected driver, Alek Minassian, 25, of Richmond Hill, Ontario, was in custody. Minassian was arrested in a white rental van less than 30 minutes after police received a 911 call. They are not calling this an act of terrorism but what they don’t realize is that we have terrorists living here, hurting the very citizens that they share a city/country with.

Just for Laughs

Ever wondered what happens when Hallmark writers are having a bad day?

My tire was thumping,

I thought it was flat

When I looked at the tire…

I noticed your cat.

Heard your wife left you

How upset you must be.

But don’t fret about it…

She moved in with me.

I’ve always wanted to have

Someone to hold,

Someone to love.

After having met you…

I’ve changed my mind.

Looking back over the years

That we’ve been together,

I can’t help but wonder…

What the heck was I thinking?
